Description: Originally created for National Geographic explorer Fernando Trujillo. The modified version is featured in the National Geographic Museum of Exploration’s Impact Wall, which highlights explorer projects and research. This particular map shows the locations and extents of sites around the world designated as Wetlands of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitat. The map also highlights countries that contain river dolphin habitat within their borders, and that either have or have not signed the Global Declaration for River Dolphins. The second map focuses on the signatory/non-signatory countries and river dolphin habitat.
