I am a geographer and cartographer, currently working at The National Geographic Society creating wayfinding, interpretive, and environmental maps for the new Museum of Exploration. I have also planned signage and wayfinding systems for healthcare and education campuses, and worked as a freelance cartographer creating print and interactive maps.
As a postdoctoral scholar at Penn State, I was a co-founder and Creative Director of the GeoGraphics Lab: a cartographic production and research laboratory at the Department of Geography. Before that, my PhD research was on tactile maps for blind and low vision users, and my master’s thesis was on organ transplantation logistics.
In high school, I worked in the filmmaking industry, winning four youth filmmaking awards at SXSW and starting my own commercial video studio before attending college.
As a professional cartographer, I have created maps for a diverse range of clients and venues, including interactive maps for Stamen, installation art for Penn State and The Alameda Creek Watershed Center, books published by Stanford University Press and The University of Chicago press, as well as for academic research articles, conference presentations, grant applications, and compliance reports.
